Thanks to Betty Crocker’s cake mix which made it possible for me to bake a
cake for my daughter who turned seventeen yesterday. As I am not an expert in
cake making,I find baking easy with the cake mixes that are found in shelves
at the supermarket.I simply followed the instructions in the packet but added a twist to it.Since I was baking an orange cake,I threw in some fresh
orange zest to the mixture. My daughter was not too keen to glaze the cake with icing so I covered the
cake with lemon frosting and did a
little decoration with some colourful smarties.

Rainbow Sandwiches
When my children see a colourful plate they get enticed by it.Then they get tempted. So there's no problem making them eat sandwiches . Ribbon or rainbow sandwiches are a delight to the eyes..These colourful sandwiches get the attention of children very quickly. This is a 'must do 'menu during Kiddies birthday parties .This is a very easy recipe and there's no heavy labour involved. You can also choose a title of your choice.
Rainbow Sandwiches.
Boil veggies like carrot and beetroot.Cool and mash it separately.Add butter, cream cheese, mustard paste to each of the mashed veggies.mix separately .Sprinkle with pepper and salt.
Apply butter on the sliced sandwich .Spread carrot paste on one side of the sliced sandwich .Seal it with another slice. Then take a new slice and spread beetroot paste on it and lay it on the carrot sandwich.
Trim the edges and cut into quarters and serve.
You can also keep layering with different filings.
When ready arrange them beautifully on a platter .When you serve different kinds of sandwiches, like cheese sandwiches, chicken sandwiches or veggie sandwiches, place a label on each platter denoting their variety.

The Candy Bar

It was too hot and stuffy inside the house and we decided to go the mall just to feel relaxed and get a bit of fresh air.The mall was so big that I was afraid the children would get lost if I didn't keep monitoring them closely. While walking leisurely and in our own pace,I spotted this candy bar in the centre of the long broad avenues within the mall.It was beautiful set. There were an assortment of candies,in a variety of colours assembled inside neat and tiny cubicles. Luckily I had my digital camera in my bag .To the amusement of the candy store keeper,I started clicking pictures.
Unfortunately We did n't buy some for the children as we were on our way back home to dinner.
